Obituary: Danny Hipps, age 64, of Englewood, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at his residence. The son of the late William and Alice Ervin Hipps, he was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and retired from the Englewood School in 2012 after many years of service. Danny was an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed spending time outdoors and going to flea markets.
He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Dolly and Robert Martin.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina Hipps of Athens; siblings, Margie Wise, Bart Hipps and wife Carolyn, and Glenda Harris and husband Joe all of Englewood. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.
Service: A Gathering of Friends will be held from 5-7p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
