Obituary: Myrtle I. Waller, age 94, of Etowah, passed away Friday morning at a local healthcare facility. The daughter of the late Ben and Ella Bowers Raper, she was born in Tellico Plains and spent her entire life in McMinn County. She was a longtime member of the Etowah Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Waller and eight siblings.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jimmie Lou “ Jippie” Perian and husband James of Etowah; three grandchildren, Lawrence Perian and wife Frances of Etowah, Kenneth Perian and wife Audry of Etowah, and Steven Perian of Etowah; six great-grandchildren, Shannon McCracken and husband Carson of Etowah, Nathan Perian of Chicago, Daniel Perian of England, Stephanie Bowers and husband Jason of Delano, Brandon Perian and Matthew Perian both of Etowah; two great-great-grandchildren, Logan McCracken and Jasper Bowers. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

Service: Funeral services will be conducted 3P.M. Sunday, April 27, 2014 , from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Delano Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.

The Family will receive friends from 1-3p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Etowah Church of Christ or the McMinn Chapter of the American Cancer Society in Mrs. Waller’s memory.
