Karla Eaton McDonald

Service Date: Tuesday, July 28, 2015 Obituary: Karla Eaton McDonald, age 52, of Athens, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Friday, July 24, 2015, at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens. She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She loved her church family and played the piano/organ for ten years. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Alvin McDonald. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Crystal McDonald and Edward McKeehan, Beth and Shone Rutledge, and Shondra McDonald ; son , Taylor McDonald; parents, Frank and Sue Eaton; grandchildren, Alvin and Aiden Kilpatrick, and Quentin and Jacob McKeehan all of Athens. Several Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 7p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Mark Latham officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Tellico Ave Baptist Church Cemetery for the committal service with Eddie McKeehan, Shone Rutledge, Allen Hester, Jeff Hembree, Greg Kilpatrick, Daniel Kasper, Wesley Scruggs, and Bobby Crowder serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
