Service Date: Tuesday, July 28, 2015 Obituary: Carol Ammerman, age 74, of Englewood, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015, at a local healthcare facility. The daughter of the late Charles William and Virginia Blades Cummins, she was born in Kentucky and had moved to McMinn County in 2002 from Martin County, FL. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Shelby Whiting; and sisters, Dorisann Cummins and Mary Louise Glassock. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Don Ammerman of Englewood; daughters, Connie Whiting and husband Glenn of Athens and Karen Pugliese and husband David of Kingston, GA; grandchildren, Shawna Hart and husband Harrison of Athens, Matt Whiting of Chattanooga, Samuel Whiting and wife Holly of Decatur, Emily Whiting of Athens, Jeremiah Whiting of Athens, Jacob Whiting of Athens, Lauren Thomas of Buford, GA, and Bryanna Thomas of Athens, GA; great-grandchildren, Hadley Stall and Isabella Hart; sisters, Donna Dietz and husband George of Cynthiana, KY and Else Anderson and husband Charles of Cincinnati , OH; and brother, Charles Cummins and wife Loretta of Falmouth,KY. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive. Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Harrison Hart officiating. Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the services. The family will receive friends from 12-1p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
