David "Dave" Maddux

Mr .David "Dave" Maddux, age 69 of Riceville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 29, 2015, at Fort Sanders Medical Center in Knoxville. Born in St Louis, Missouri, he had spent most of his life in McMinn County. He loved to barbecue, watch and read the news, and spend time with his family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy Maddux and Lillian Griffith; and daughter, Renee Bellamy. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 40 years, Wilma Maddux of Riceville; children, Melissa Yates of Sweetwater, Ann Torbett and husband Dewayne of Ten Mile, Scott Yates and wife Tonya of Sweetwater, Alan Yates and wife Vicki of Sweetwater, Rodney Yates of Riceville, Tony Yates of Englewood; brother, Don Maddux and wife Rhonda of Kansas City, MO , and special furry friends, Ricochet and Baby. Eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, along with several other extended family members also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 3p.m. from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Chaplain Mark Reedy officiating. Interment will be private.
