Patsy Gourley

Ms. Patsy Gourley, age 75, of Tellico Plains, passed away Saturday morning, August 15, 2015, at her residence. The daughter of the late Pat and Anna Mae Stewart Smith, she was a native and lifelong resident of Monroe County and had served as custodian at Tellico Plains Elementary School for several years. She was a member of the Goodsprings Holiness House of Prayer and had recently attended the Mt. Vernon Tabernacle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Billie Nell Matoy and Polly Wilson. She is survived by children, Teresa Ellis and husband Charles, Gary Smith and wife Sandra ; grandchildren, Sasha Ellis- Gaona and husband Carlos, Savannah Ellis-Rodriguez, Corey Smith and wife Brittany , and Ryan Smith; great-grandchildren, Nehemiah Gaona , Marcus Smith; brothers, Clyde Smith ,Claude Smith and wife Barbara all of Tellico Plains. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 8p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Johnny Williams and Brother Tony Denton officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Center Presbyterian Church Cemetery for the committal service. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.
