Frederick William Zimmerman

Frederick William Zimmerman, III, age 56 ,of Hixson, passed away Sunday at a local healthcare facility. Born in Philadelphia, he was a Chattanooga native for over 40 years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, a sports enthusiast, and a friend to everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick William Zimmerman, Jr.; mother, Marie Augusta Zimmerman Bunch; brother, William Charles "Billy" Zimmerman; and step-father, Paul Bunch. He is survived by his son, Frederick William Zimmerman, IV. Of Atlanta; siblings, Frank Joseph Zimmerman and wife Debbie of Johns Creek, Georgia, Michael William Zimmerman and wife Gina of Hixson, Marie Ellen Turner and husband Jack of Daphne, AL, Steven Michael Zimmerman and wife Kathy of Shelby Township, Michigan, and Frank Bunch of Knoxville. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
