Mary Louise Perkins

Mary Louise Perkins, age 64, of Athens, passed away Thursday evening, September 10, 2015, at her home. Mary was born on July 24, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio, and had spent the last 18 years in McMinn County. She was most recently employed at the Sweetwater Hospital Association. She was an avid traveler, traveling to many different countries, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Louise McCabe Hopkins. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 34 years, Ralph Perkins of Athens; children, Ralph Perkins, Jr. and wife Gladys of Woodford, VA, Adam Perkins of Portsmouth, NH, Tammie Berrnier of Springvale, MA, Terrie Stilphin of Wells, ME, Heather Williams and husband Doug of Englewood, TN, Eugene Johnson and wife Velvet of Lookout Mountain, GA, and Stacia Miller and husband John of Hermaston, OR; father, James Hopkins of Couer d'alene , ID; sisters, Judith Cruea of Athens, Rebecca Dittmer of Athens, Janel Pierson and husband Dennis of Ne Durham, NH, and JoAnn Kern and husband Jay of Kittery Point, ME. Twenty- one grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members also survive. A gathering of friends will be held from 6-8p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at Serenity Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, you take time to enjoy a special memory of Mary.
