Kathy Sue Walters, age 61, of Athens, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at her residence. Born November 14, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio, she was raised in West Carrollton and spent the last 22 years in Monroe County. Kathy was an avid reader, a devout Christian, and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her father, William Ray Walters; daughter, Rebecca Haskins; grandson, Edward Haskins III; and nephew, Brad Akins. She is survived by children, Amy Captain of Madisonville, Sarah Ortez of Athens, and William Walters and wife Sarah of Madisonville; mother, Jessie Turpin Walters of West Carrolton, OH; grandchildren, Alyssa Captain, Crysta Captain , Zachary Hyatt, Kelsey Captain, Seth Hyatt, Bethany Wilcox, Kameron Walters, Lukas Wilcox, Hailie Walters, and Jacob Walters; great-grandchild, Bransyn Leslie; sisters, Pamela Selleck and husband Mike of Westchester, OH, and Cindy Walters of Miamiasburg, OH, and nephew, Jesse Pennington of West Carrolton, OH. A Celebration of Life and Home going for Kathy Walters will be held at 8p.m. Tuesday, at O.A.A. Worship Center in Madisonville with Pastor Morgan Clough officiating. Interment will be in her home state of Ohio. The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. on Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
