Paul Arthur " Buck" Sherwood, age 71, of Englewood, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at a local healthcare facility. Born in Knoxville on January 8, 1944, to the late Arthur and Hazel Lee Crowe Sherwood, he lived in McMinn County for most of his life. A man of great faith, he was and avid fisherman, farmer, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Clowers and Betty Louise Moats. Buck is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Ellen Freeman Sherwood of Englewood; sons, Hank Sherwood of Kentucky, Jeff Sherwood of Athens, and David Sherwood and wife Lisa of Riceville; step-children, David Martin and wife Amanda of Charleston and Amy Martin and husband Nathan of Etowah; sisters, Shirley Patterson of Englewood, Pauline Clowers of Englewood and Rosie Martin and husband Eugene of Athens; special friends, Jim and Martha Womac of Athens; nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends also survive A celebration of Life and Home going for Buck Sherwood will be held at 7p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Roger Fairman officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Clearwater Baptist Church Cemetery for the committal service. The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
