Paul Richard Clark, 76, of
Athens, passed away Dec. 23,
2015, at Fort Sanders Medical
Center in Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Millard Ray Clark
and Madge Madison Clark;
brother, David Madison Clark;
and a special neice, Ann Harris
Wilcox.
He was a resident of McMinn
County most of his life. He and
his father built the family home
that he and his family have lived
in for over 50 years.
He was a retired carpenter
from Bowater, Inc. and a 50-
year member of Etowah Lodge
No. 653. He was of the Baptist
faith, attending Solid Rock
Baptist Church until his health
declined.
He was an avid camper, and
he and his wife traveled many
miles camping after retirement.
His hobby was restoring John
Deere Tractors. He restored a
1953 JD and has shown it in
numerous shows along with his
tractor buddies, Zane Albritton
and Randy Birchfield.
He is survived by his wife of
26 years, Alvilee Davis Clark;
one son, Richard Allen and
Cindy Clark; one daughter,
Rhonda Clark Thompson; and
grandchildren: Cortney
Thompson Henry and Marcus,
and Mandy Thompson and their
dad, Scott Thompson, Dr.
Melisa Clark Couey, and
Anthony and Ryan Wilson. His
extended family is Carol Davis
Buckner and Larry, their chil-
dren, Ashley Buckner Sims and
David, Zachary Buckner and
Bethany, and Kyle Buckner;
great-grandchildren: Hayden
and Elizabeth Wilson, Abbi
Thompson, Hudson Blaine,
Addeline and Annaleigh Henry;
extended great-grands: Bella,
Bessie, Betty Zayne, Bennie
Buckner and Anna Kate and
Levi Sims; and two siblings.
A celebration of life and
homegoing of Paul Clark will be
held at 4 p.m. today, Dec. 27,
2015, at Serenity Funeral Home
Chapel in Etowah with Pastor
Daniel Stewart, Pastor Dennis
Leamon and Dr. Jimmy
McCarter officiating.
Graveside service will be at
11 a.m. Monday at Greenhill
Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry,
Gary, Chad, Roger, Steve Clark,
and Don Firestone. Mr. George
Carver and Hoyt Clark will serve
as an honorary pallbearers.
A white dove release ceremo-
ny will conclude the services.
Family will receive friends
from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the
service today.
