James Lee Lowe

James Lee Lowe, age 40, of Athens, passed away Wednesday evening, March 23, 2016, at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens. Born on June 28, 1975, he was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and was of the Baptist faith. James attended McMinn County High School and enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors and time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Columbus Lowe.

James is survived by daughter, Katelyn Lowe; mother, Marie Moses and husband Jim of Etowah; sister Angela Valencia and husband Fidel of Athens; brothers, Richard Lynn Lowe, Thomas Lowe, and Johnny Mason of Athens; special nieces and nephews, Fidel Emerald, Abigail , Isaac, and Nelson Valencia of Athens. Several aunts, uncles, and other extended family members and many friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life and Home going for James Lowe will be held at 8p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Doyle Lloyd officiating.

The family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 1:30 pm Sunday, March 27, 2016 and proceed to Mars Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery for the 2p.m. committal service. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.

The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. on Saturday.
