James "Jimmy" Nelson

James “ Jimmy” Nelson, age 72, of Vonore, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at a local rehab facility. He was a native and lifelong resident of Monroe County, and a member of the Old Missionary Baptist Church.

He is the son of Wiley Alonzo Nelson and Mary Lou Nelloms Nelson. Jimmy was an avid yard-saler, enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his 2nd wife, Betsy Pat Nelson.

He is survived by one son, Mike Nelson (Margie) of Sweetwater; three grandchildren, Michael Nelson (Ashley) of Knoxville, Danielle Nelson of Sweetwater, and Christopher Nelson of Sweetwater; two great grandchildren, Aeriana Nelson and Kinsley Nelson; one sister, Deloris Langford of Ooltewah; his 1st wife, Mildred Nelson, and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.

There will be private family services at a later date.
