Roger Dale Steward

Roger Dale Steward, age 55, of Delano went to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at his residence.   He was a 1978 graduate of McMinn Central High School and a native and lifelong resident of Delano.   He was retired from TDOT after 30 years of service, and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Ford Mustangs, horse-back riding, and above all, spending time with family and friends.  He was the best son, father, papaw, brother, and best friend anyone could have.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ellen Perian Shadden and Sanford Perian; paternal grandparents, Floyd Steward and Lula Steward Raxter

He is survived by his finance’ Joyce “Jackie” Rose of Delano; Parents, Brenda Perian and Lawrence Steward of Delano; three children, Stacy Steward & Monte Boring of Delano, Daniel Steward of Delano, and Lindsey Steward of Delano; and their mother, Kim Carter of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, Makayla Killian, Hunter Killian, Kaitlyn Killian, Cody Boring, Collin Boring,  M.J. Burger and Gabby Burger; one sister, Trish and John Linder of Tunnel Hill, GA.; Future daughter and son-in-law, Sebrina and Mark Burger; niece & nephew, Tyler and Maggie Linder; special friends, Jerry and Kat Townsend of Etowah and Pat and Eddie Culberson of Delano.  Several other extended family and numerous good friends also survive.

The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 8 p.m. from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home Chapel with Sheriff Steve Ross, Pastor Robbie Hatcher and Pastor Robbie Combs officiating.

The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. prior to the service. 

A Private Interment will be held on Thursday at the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
