Billy Ray Morgan

Billy Ray Morgan, age 50 of Madisonville, passed away at a local hospital on Wednesday, August 10, 2016.  He was born in McMinn County and spent the last 23 years in Monroe County . He was of the Baptist faith.

Billy was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, enjoyed playing softball, camping and spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Cora Crisp; paternal grandparents, Thelma and Loyal Morgan.

Billy is survived by his wife of 16 years, Becky White Morgan; his parents, Linda Morgan and Eugene Hedgecoth of Etowah and father, Jerry Morgan of Etowah; four children, Waylon Morgan of Etowah, Amber (Emmett) Jaynes of Madisonville, Kala Strickland of Athens, and Billy Ray Morgan, Jr. of Madisonville; three grandchildren, Alexa Lynch, Brantley Jaynes and Bronson Jaynes;  two sisters, Sherry Morgan Casteel of Etowah, and Pattie Hedgecoth (Greg) Bunch of Athens;  one niece, Lexi Casteel; two nephews, Chris Cooley and Chad Cooley.  Several other extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2016 from the chapel of  Serenity Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Crisp officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.   A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.

The family will receive friends from 5-8p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the funeral home.
