James “ Rick” Peeler, age 61, of Ringgold and formerly of Englewood, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at his residence. Born in Los Angeles, California, he spent a majority of his life in McMinn County before moving to North Georgia in 2000. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was employed for several years at Johnson Controls and most recently the Roper Corporation. Rick was an avid golfer and loved the Tennessee Volunteers.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Earl Peeler; and father-in-law, Jerome Fain.
Rick is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Vickie Fain Peeler of Ringgold GA; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Lisa Peeler of Beaumont, Texas; daughter, Angie Wilson of Ringgold, GA; grandchildren, Logan Peeler of Ringgold, Chloe Wilson of Ringgold, Elizabeth Peeler of Beaumont, Abby Peeler of Beaumont, and Sidney Peeler of Beaumont; mother, Edna Peeler of Englewood; sister, Sandra Prater and husband Richard of Fredricktown, Ohio; and mother-in-law, Betty Fain of Athens. Several other extended family and numerous good friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life and Home going service for Rick Peeler will be held at 8p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from the Englewood First Church of God with Brother Randall Farrell and Brother Scott Ossewaarde officiating.
Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 11 a.m on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 and proceed to Sunrise Cemetery for 12 noon committal service. Military Honors and a White Dove Release Ceremony will conclude the services.
The family will receive friends from 5-8p.m. Tuesday at the church.
