Jerry Charles Curtis

Jerry Curtis, age 56, of Etowah, passed away Monday evening, December 19, 2016, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.   Born on November 18, 1960 to the late Stanley and Grace Riggs Curtis, he was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and of the Baptist faith. Jerry served as a deputy sheriff for McMinn County and worked for several years at J.C. Tanner Radiator Repair Shop. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Clouser.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Alberta Frerichs Curtis of Etowah; daughters, Amanda Smith and husband Quincy of Tell City, Indiana, Misty Webb and husband Ben of Etowah, and Kristy Bourff and husband Scott of Caryville, Tennessee; grandchildren,  Brandon Bourff, Justin Bourff, Katelyn Bourff, Zayda Smith, Zac Smith, Aliyah Smith, Tristian Castillo, Brianna Webb and Benjamin “ Junior” Webb; and sisters, Barbara Masten and husband Chuck of Phoenix, Arizona and Stanna Jo Obermeirer of Arizona. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

 Funeral services will be conducted at 7p.m. on Thursday,  December 22, 2016, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Michael Coleman officiating.  Family and friends will gather at 11:30 a.m. Friday morning December 23, 2016, and proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 12 noon committal service.

 The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
