Brian Lauvale Benton age 56, of Etowah, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at his residence. Born on June 2, 1960, he was son of the late Fred and Joyce Benton and was a lifelong resident of McMinn County. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gail Benton; brother, Cleatus Benton; and brother-in-law. William Carter.
Brian is survived by his significant other, Kristie Green of Etowah; son Eric Benton of Athens; grandchildren, Victoria and Valentina; siblings, Herbert Benton and Wife Debra of Etowah, Kerry Benton and wife Yvette of Columbus, Georgia, Michael Benton and wife Ingrid of St.Croix ,Virgin Islands, Vivian Carter and fiancé Mike Oliver Clemmons, North Carolina, Karen Granger and husband Felix of Griffin, Georgia, Jacquline Smith and fiancé Greg Holcomb of Nashville, and Trella Benton and significant other, Wesley Constant of Cleveland; special friends, Clayborne Walker, Frankie Williams , Greg Holcomb, Eddie Gentry, LaJuane Lowary and Verlin. A host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Brian Benton will be held at 5p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 at Star Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend James Parris officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 3-5p.m. on Friday at the church prior to the service.
