James Francis Hunt, Jr

James Francis Hunt Jr., 74, of Athens, TN, went to be with the Lord May 8th, 2017 at home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born April 26th, 1943 in Nashville, Tennessee, to Lula
Mai Hunt and James Francis Hunt Sr., the oldest of three siblings. James graduated from NYC
University in 1963 and married Mary Clementine, his wife of 51 years. He served as Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and performed in the marching band. After his honorable discharge, he became a professional percussionist playing alongside the likes of Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Roy Orbison, and many more. James had a zest for life and his personality will never be forgotten. He truly believed that there are no strangers, just friends you haven’t met yet.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
He is survived by his siblings, Judy and Wayne, and his daughters Patricia, Thamsey, and Jamie.
Services will be held at Athens Church of
Christ on May, 19th at 2 p.m.
Visitation will be held from 12pm - 2pm at the church prior to the funeral service.
