Reva Lou Swafford West, age 88, of Niota, passed away on Monday morning, June 12, 2017, at her residence. She was born September 16, 1928 to the late Roy and Suda Womac Swafford and was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and of the Christian faith. Mrs. West was a local hairdresser for 43 years and also retired from the McMinn County High School cafeteria after 20 years of service.
Preceding her in death are her parents listed above; her husband Clifford Gene West; and one sister, Bernice Crabtree.
Survivors include her children, Conya Yarber of Niota, Johnny West of Sweetwater and fiancé Natalie Liner Keller, Klain (Pamela) West of Lowell, IN; Grandchildren, April (Norman) White, Brian West, Jeremy (Trina) West, Tabitha (Adam) Lenker, Barbara (Jeremy) Smith and David (Monica) West; Great-grandchildren, Cayley Ratledge, Clay Griffis, Brianna West, Dillon West, Bricen West, Hayley West, Colby (Tia) West, Aubrey West, T.K. West, Caiden West, David Mason, Jeffrey Mason, Brooklyn Mason, Lucas Cramer, Matthew Cramer, Skyler West, Madison Graves, Brantley West; three sisters, Teresa Hope of Cleveland, Sue Mullins of Cleveland, Emily Wilson of San Diego, CA; one brother, Ronnie Swafford of Riceville; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Also surviving are two special four-legged friends, Max and Biscuit.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the McMinn Memory Gardens Mausoleum. There will be no formal visitation.
