Iris Hodge, age 89, of Delano, and formerly of Tampa, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 5, 2017, at her home. Born on December 27, 1927 in St.George, Georgia to the late George and Missouria Crawford, she had lived most of her life in Georgia and Tampa before moving to Polk County eight years ago. She attended Crossroads Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bill Hodge and nine siblings.
She is survived by son, Ronald Crawford and wife Delinda of Delano; step sons, Johnny Hodge of Benton and Paul Hodge of Florida; grandsons, Ronald Crawford, Jr. and wife Sherry of Cleveland and Brian Hodge of Cleveland; great grandchildren, Alicia, Michael and Abigail Crawford; sister, Clara Young of St.George, Georgia and brother, Nolan Crawford of St.George, Georgia. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and numerous friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Iris Hodge will be held at 1p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Mason officiating. Interment will follow in the Delano Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12-1p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
