Annie Lee Borden-Derrick, age 93, of Etowah, left this earth for her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. She was a member of Etowah First Christian church.
Annie and her husband Bill operated Derrick’s Antiques for over 50 years. Their family, friends and faith was very important to them. Bill and Annie always planned & shared for vacation time with their children every year, and traveled to whatever state an Antique Show or Flea Market would take them. She loved traveling, decorating, arranging furniture, working in her yard, shopping and eating out.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Derrick; father and mother, Andy and Nellie Borden; four sisters, infant Mildred Borden, Pearl Ballew, Mary Daugherty, and Ruby Atkins; three brothers, Gilbert Borden, Harold Borden, and Ralph Borden.
She is survived by their four children, one daughter, Billie Derrick Rhea; three sons and spouses, Barry and Janice Derrick, Borden and special friend Janette Derrick Levine, Tracy and Linda Derrick; eleven grandchildren and spouses, Scott and Sue Bowman, Jason and Amanda Bowman, Andy and Autumn Derrick, Nathan and Annette Derrick, Chad and Jessica Derrick, Jeff and Lauren Derrick, Stacy and Paul Warner, Chelsie and Brandon Million, Kim Godsey and Shane Crisp; fifteen great-grandchildren, Hayley, Miranda, Karson, Mason, Mallory, Aryn, Gage, Gunner, Bricen, Zak, Isabelle, Hannah, Avery, Anna Grace and Dillon, and a host of nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Gerwonda Smith and nephew, Larry Borden.
A special thank you to the Elders of the Englewood Christian Church for their time each Sunday to serve communion to Annie; and to the staff at Starr Regional Nursing Home.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Scott Bowman, Jason Bowman, Andy Derrick, Nathan Derrick, Chad Derrick and Jeff Derrick.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at McMinn Memory Garden. There will be no formal visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908, or to your favorite charity.
