Jack A Barnett, Sr.

Jack A. Barnett, Sr., age 94, of Etowah, passed away at his home Monday morning September 18, 2017.  He was born in Hillard, Ohio and later moved to Florida and then to Etowah, where he met Eddie Mae and her family.  Rebecca “Becky”, Amanda, and Little Sierra Belle.  He loved to go watch Sierra play baseball with the boys and Karate.  She loved to help Jack work in the yard and flowers.  She would help him cut weeds and grass and haul it to the street….he loved her so much and she loved him.  To Sierra, Jack was her “Grandpa Jack”.  She planned a birthday party for his 93rd birthday and picked out the cake herself.

He also loved Amanda and Rebecca “Becky”.  They were the girls he never had.  He lost his step-daughter, “Becky” to cancer on June 22, 2014.  She was a loss we never got over. 

He leaves behind a host of family and friends; his sons, Tom, Jerry & Sandy, Jack Jr. & Dinha, Bobby & Tammy Barnett and all their family members; special friends, Lloyd Burns; and Anita Jones.

Jack will be missed most of all by Eddie Mae, who loved him very much.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017, at the Conasauga Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 22, 2017, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. in the chapel of the Serenity Funeral Home of Etowah, and again from 12 noon – 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017, prior to the graveside side service.

Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Etowah is in charge of the arrangements.
