Sheila Sheree Jackson

 Shelia McCroskey Jackson, age 61, of Etowah, departed this life on Saturday morning, September 23, 2017 at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens.  A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she had retired from the Family Resource Agency with over twenty years of service.  She was the founder and pastor of River of Life Truth Mission as well as the former president of the Area Wide McMinn County Cancer Support Group and former board member of the McMinn Senior Center, Her passions in life were traveling, yard saling, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

Sheila was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Jackson; father, Winston McCroskey; and sister, Tonya Bowerman.

Left behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Sherita ( Thomas) Dodd of Etowah; son, Graylon Ervin of Etowah; mother, Willa J. McCroskey; sisters, Mary Sabrina McCroskey of Etowah and Mary Serena McCroskey of Springfield, MA; brother-in-law, Charles (Betty) Jackson; grandchildren, Demicah Malone, Shelton Malone, Shariq Dodd, Jalon Ervin, LaDarius Felix, Briana, and Draden; special friends, Deborah (Herbert) Benton,  Shelia Mason, Frances Pierce, Shirley Neal, Brenda Harris, Dana Staton, and Paul Ervin.

A Celebration of Life and Home going will be held at 1p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Pastor Georgia Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in the New Zion Cemetery.

 The family will receive friends from 12noon -1p.m on Thursday prior to the service.
