Dale Glenn Smith, age 46, of Benton, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017, at his residence. A native of McMinn County, he had lived the past ten years in Polk County and was of the Baptist faith. Dale was previously employed by Jake Marshall Contractors and enjoyed motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Smith.
Dale is survived by his children, Cody Smith and fiancé Lacy Tincher of Etowah, Gracelyn Smith of Benton, Caitlyn Smith of Benton; mother Bernice Smith of Etowah; brothers, Daril Smith of Etowah, David Smith and fiancé Karlissa of Etowah; sister, Nona McKenzie and husband Jamie of Etowah; aunts, Louise Burger of Delano. Mary Gibson of Benton; uncle Curtis Hall of Benton; and several nieces, nephews, and a special nephew, Christian “Boo” Smith.
A celebration of Life will be held at 7p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in the funeral home chapel with Brother Pete Morgan officiating.
The family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 and proceed to Hiwassee Union Baptist Church for the 11a.m. committal service.
Jason Smith, C.J. Sharp, James Lamb, Frankie Cook, Ben Parson, and Jamie McKenzie will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Amos and H.R. Lewis.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
