Bruce Wilcox, age 72, of Benton, passed away on Monday evening, January 29, 2018, at his residence. Born on April 26, 1945 to the late Elzie James and Velmer Hedden Wilcox, he was a native and lifelong resident of Polk County and member of Towee Baptist Church. Bruce was retired from the U.S. Forestry Department and loved blue grass music, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Coleen Wilcox; and brothers, Cecil, Jerald, and Dan Wilcox
Survivors include sons, James Stacey (Rebecca) Wilcox of Akron, Ohio, Steven Lee (Amy) Wilcox of Benton; brothers, Harold Wilcox of Cleveland, Darrius (Sue) Wilcox of Reliance, Vic( Sandy) Wilcox of Reliance, Hubert(Robin) Wilcox of Cleveland; sister, Anna Lou( Oldean) Rymer of Delano; special friend, Ailene Wilcox of Benton ;eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Bruce Wilcox will be held at 2p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Steve Dills and Brother Johnny Townsend officiating. Interment will follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the funeral home.
