Walter Ingram, age 88 of Englewood, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at his residence. Born on December 23, 1929, he was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County. He was retired from Duracell batteries and was a member of East View Baptist Church. Walter loved music, playing guitar and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Arvil and Aldeline Ridley Ingram; siblings, Joe Ingram, Homer Ingram, Omer Ingram, Harley Ingram, Myrtle Buckner, Minnie Lou Allman, Fred Ingram, and Bertha Mullinax.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Bernice Raper Ingram of Englewood; children, James “ Larry” (Kathy) Ingram of Franklin, Allen (Sara) Ingram of Madisonville, Jeffrey “Lynn” ( Cheryl) Ingram of Englewood, and Pamela Renee (Adam) Montgomery of Etowah and special nephew, Clyde (Sylva Jean) Ingram of Athens . Eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11a.m. Friday, August 3, 2018 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Brother Allen Watson officiating. Entombment will follow at McMinn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the funeral home.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Englewood Rural Fire Department, P.O. Box 126 Englewood, TN 37329
