Norman “Ray” Kincaid, age 85 of the Claxton Community, passed away early Thursday morning at a Chattanooga Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County; was of the Baptist faith, retired from Bowater Corporation, and served his country in the U.S. Navy. Ray was an avid coon hunter, he never met a stranger and loved spending time with his family.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, “Norman” Wilson Kincaid and Virginia “Grace” Tallent; two sons, Douglas Ray and Rodney Keith Kincaid; one grandson, Travis Ray Kincaid; a brother Sonny Kincaid, a sister Wilma Bledsoe, infant brother, A.J. Kincaid and infant sister, Polly Sue Kincaid.
He is survived by his finance’ Jaye Rickman of Etowah; son, Jack (Patti) Kincaid of Englewood; two step-children, Greg (Lisa) Rickman of Etowah, Brad (Nicki) Rickman of Englewood; eight grandchildren, Jody (Jessie) Bunch of Madisonville, Lacey (Caleb) Martin of Englewood, Eric Kincaid of Englewood, NaTalia (Wesley) Prichard of Athens, Lindsey (Caleb) Faulkner of Athens, Lauren Dills, Kailee Rickman and Logan Rickman of Etowah, and five great grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Ben (Faye) Kincaid of Etowah, Steve (Sarah) Kincaid of Delano; brother-in-law J.C. Bledsoe of Etowah. Several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends also survive.
A Graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Etowah Cemetery with Reverend Zach Davis officiating.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Funeral Home.
