Dorothy Aszman

Dorothy Ruth (Greenway) Aszman (Dottie), 79, long time resident of Cleveland and Decatur, Tennessee passed away on September 16, 2009. She was the daughter of Lydia A. and Newton J. Greenway of Jerome, Arkansas and one of 9 siblings. She is preceded in death by her parents and 7 brothers.

Dottie was an active member of the Athens/McMinn County Senior Center where she was an integral part of the Senior Olympic Games, serving on planning committees and as event chairperson. An avid bridge player, she enjoyed the fellowship and comaradery of her bridge groups.

Dottie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, E. James, children Mike, Rick, Jim, Carol, 7 grandchildren, and her sister Beatrice Greenway Jacks of Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at Grissom Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN with visitation on September 19, 2009 from 2 " 4 pm with a memorial service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the McMinn County Senior Center P. O. Box 41 Athens, TN 37371, Hospice of Chattanooga, or charity of choice.
