L. V. Bible, 79, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, April 13, 2007 in a local hospital. He retired from Dupont after 42 years of employment. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of Bellefounte Baptist Church. He was Past Master of the Cleveland Lodge #134 and a member of the Scottish Rite, Shriners, and Eastern Star. He was a member of the Public Service Unit of the Cleveland City Police Department. He was devoted to his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett T. and Cora Lee Humphfreys Bible; first wife, Arvetta Lee Bible; two brothers, Fred and Thomas Bible; and four sisters, Audrey Kelley, Josephine Bible, Louise Wilson, and Helen Goins Loe.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda DeLay Bible of Cleveland; one son and daughter in law, Randy and Mary Jo Bible of Cleveland; one daughter and son in law, Aletha and Robert Shipman of Cleveland; two stepdaughters, Lisa Salstrand and husband Ken of Nashville and Kimberly Scott and husband Shawn of Cleveland; one sister, Victoria Bible Haun of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, Mark Bible and wife Susan, Brian Bible and wife Robyn, Stephen Scott, Rebecca, Ben, Caroline, and Joshua Salstrand; and two great grandchildren, Abigail and Kaitlyn Bible; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Les Casteel and Mr. Danny Ray Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. Ken Salstrand, Shawn Scott, Reed Goins, J. C. Haun, Harold Haun, and P. D. Doss will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
