Velma Boyd

Velma L. Boyd, age 87, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2009, in a local healthcare facility. She was of the Baptist faith. She was retired from M&M Mars. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack H. Boyd, two sons, Stephen Boyd and Dane Alan Gibson and parents, Edridge and Fannie Brown.

She is survived by one son and daughter in law, Mitch and Missy Boyd, Athens, TN; two daughters and sons in law, Jackie L. and Junior Goforth, Cleveland, TN and Margie and Pete Mauldin, Hiwassee, GA; five grandchildren, Marka Moore, Carlee Boyd, Ashlee Byrd, Sherry Puckett and Laurie Couch; three great grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Wayne Fritts officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 8, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.net
