BURGESS, Lessie Lee Johnson, went to be with The Lord on January 19, 2008.

She was born in Summit, MS., on January 23, 1920. She married Elbert Burgess on May 21, 1934. They were married 60 years until his death in 1994. To this union was born eight sons and five daughters: Vernon, Apopka, Fl; Bill (Evelyn), Foley, AL; Jesse (Joyce), Warner Robins, GA; preceded her in death in 2006; Mickey (Marie), Yankee Town, FL; Winnie K. Green (Gerald), Warner Robins, GA;; Larry (Cheryl), Tavares, FL; Roger (Barbara), Duluth, GA; Linda McNeal, (Gene), Palatka, FL; Debbie Porter, and Mary Burgess, Cleveland, TN; Jimmy, Duluth, GA; Stan (Marlene), Buford, GA; and Ellen Starling, (Eric), Maylene, AL.

She was blessed with 26 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy for 54 years. She was active in Childrens, Youth and Womens ministries in MS., FL and TN.

She played the guitar and piano and instilled the love of music in her heirs. One of her favorite pastimes was getting together with her family, singing and making music and taking pictures of everyone.

She was a special lady with the spirit of giving and touched numerous lives with her gifts.

She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Funeral services will be at Grissom Funeral Home, 3010 N. Ocoee St., Cleveland, TN, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 26, 2008, Viewing from 11:00 to 1:00.
