Bobbie (Bob) Burgner

Bobbie (Bob) L. Burgner, 77, a resident of Decatur, TN, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in an Athens medical facility. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in Japan during the Korean War. He later retired from American Uniform Company in Cleveland. He was a charter member of Henegar Baptist Church in Cleveland, but attended Grace Baptist Church in Decatur.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Pauline Coleman Burgner; two sisters, Linda Burgner and Georgia Burgner Sczepanik; and two brothers, Junior Burgner and Billy E. Burgner.

Survivors include his wife Bobbie S. Burgner of Decatur; children and spouses, Douglas and Melinda Burgner of Cleveland, Deborah and David Houston of Harrison, Donna Jones, Denise Wright and Daniel Burgner, all of Decatur; stepson Austin Lunsford and wife Kelly of Decatur; two brothers, Dana Burgner and Don Burgner of Cleveland; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law, Martha Meadows of Decatur.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Andrews and Rev. Darrell Womac officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
