Jane Burrell

Jane Burrell, age 81, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Friday, December 5, 2008, in a local hospital. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with Cleveland Chair Company. She was very active in the foster grandparent program for Oak Grove Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. L. Burrell, parents, Floyd E. and Mabel Burch Howard and one brother, Robert W. Howard.

She is survived by her loving children, two sons, Jack Johnson and Jim Burrell and two daughters and son in law, Gwen and Dude Samples and Janet G. Burrell all of Cleveland, TN; five grandchildren and spouses, Joe and Vickie Samples, John and Marran Samples, Jackie and Stephanie Johnson, Lisa Johnson and Cody Johnson; five great grandchildren, Amanda Perry, Corey Samples, Frankie Nolan, J. T. Samples and Shelby Johnson; one great great granddaughter, Emilee Perry. Two special people who were like her daughters, Pat Thompson and Sabine Renner; one nephew, Neal Howard and one niece, Jala Howard.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Crook, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Neal Howard, Zak Aragon, Lindsay Aragon, Joe Samples, John Samples, Corey Samples, Jackie Johnson and Cody Johnson serving as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.net
