Leah Augusta Hoyle Card, age 87, lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN, died early Saturday morning, September 13, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert Glenn Card and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hoyle Rymer and Sarah Pauline Hoyle Nevin. She was the daughter of the late Leah Fletcher Hoyle and John Bledsoe Hoyle. She attended Bradley High School, Fassifern School in Hendersonville, North Carolina and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She was a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church, Cleveland Symphony Guild, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Cleveland Cotillion.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Leah Amy Card Lillios and William Nicholas Lillios; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Glenn Card, Jr. and Susan Chandler Card; four grandchildren, William Nicholas Lillios, Jr. and wife Stephanie Matthews Lillios, Leah Card Lillios, Robert Glenn Card, III and wife Jennifer Davis Card and Sarah Card Moles and husband, Eric David Moles; two nephews, J. Hoyle Rymer and Robert E. Rymer, Jr.; two nieces, Malinda Rymer Grosz and Sally Nevin Tighe. She is also survived by two dear companions, Rebecca Jo Arthur and Judy Gail Belk.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 15, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lukes Episcopal Church with The Reverend Dr. Joel W. Huffstetler officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at St. Lukes Parish Hall.
