Richard T. Carroll, 61, a resident of Cleveland, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 7, 2007 at the family residence. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during Vietnam. He attended the University of Tennessee for four years. He retired from TVA in 2000 after 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Jewel Davis Carroll.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki Carroll; daughter, Beth Hicks; grandson, Jax Hicks, all of Cleveland; sister and brother in law, Clara and Bennie Hugley of LaGrange, GA; and nephew, Benlee Hugley of Auburn, AL.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Honor Chairman, P. O. Box 1221, Cleveland, TN 37364, or to the Alzheimers Association, Southeast Tennessee Chapter, 735 Broad Street, Suite 300, Chattanooga, TN 37402, or to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, St. Jude Memorial Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-4:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
