Dennis E. Carson

Dennis E. Carson, age 71, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2009, in a local hospital. He was a member of the South Cleveland Church of God where he was a member of the sanctuary choir for 42 years, served as commander in Royal Rangers, a member of the Prime Timers Seniors group, and was a craft director for Royal Family kids camp. Dennis loved his church and he was a very active and dedicated member. He was a carpenter for many years and was also a well known carpet installer for 42 years before he retired. He served his country in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn O. Carson and Lola Mae Waters Carson and brothers in law, Gerald Gibby, Jimmy Coffey, Jack Coffey, Dennis Day and Merle Mangus.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Ella Mae Carson, two beloved daughters and sons in law, Wendy and Arden Seaborn and Amber and Matthew Howell all of Cleveland, TN; one sister, Jearlene Gibby of Cleveland and three precious grandchildren, Aeriel and Landon Seaborn and Raffe Howell. Several nieces and nephews and a host of friends also survive.

A Celebration of the Life and Home Going of Dennis Carson will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the South Cleveland Church of God with Pastor Chris Moody, Dr. Mark Williams and Dr. Carl Hobbs officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jerry Arp, Charlie Moody, Duane Lambert, Max Swafford, Jackie Buckner and Larry Hall serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deryle Holloway, Brad Huttenhoff and Stephen Huttenhoff. His body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
