Joy Carter

Joy Marie Carter, age 69, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009, in a local hospital. She was a member of First Christian Church of Cleveland. Formerly of Broward County, Florida, she was retired from the Broward County Sheriffs Office as Deputy. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bruce Carter.

She is survived by her son, Bill Carter, Copperhill, Tennessee; cousins, Linda Wescotte and husband, Paul of Yakutat, AK and Danny Murphy of Lacrosse, WI; sisters-in-law Lois Boyle of Cape Coral, FL and Judy Lane and husband, Keith of Vero Beach, FL; Nephew, Tom Carter and wife, Kay of Cleveland, TN; niece, Dixie Fentress and husband, Matt of Knoxville, TN and two great nieces, Tara and Tiffany Fentress; nephew Harold (Butch) Carter, and wife, Leslie of Boynton Beach, Florida; and other nieces and nephews and many loving friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 2, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Karyn Bogert officiating. Interment will be held in Lauderdale Memorial Gardens in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on January 5th.
