H. B. (Rip) Collins, age 86, resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday morning, October 6, 2007, at the family residence. He was a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a crane operator for Bowater for 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country in WWII. He was a former member of the Cleveland Golf and Country Club and the Cleveland Elks Lodge. He was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Ollie Mae Collins and one sister, Marie Collins.

He is survived by one daughter and son in law, Peggy and David Cawood, Cleveland, TN; one brother, Billy Joe Collins, Fife, AL; three grandchildren and spouses, David Jr. and Tonya Cawood and Kristi and Randy Branham all of Cleveland; Dustin and Patty Cawood, Novato, California; six great grandchildren, Cody Branham, Katie Branham, Hayden Branham, Corbin Cawood, Kellye Cawood and Colby Simmons. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 8, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Cawood and Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with David Cawood, Jr., Dustin Cawood, Randy Branham, Shawn Henson, Jimmie Henson, Vic Grider, Heath Grider, Dr. Tracy Bates and Judson Bates serving as pallbearers. Graveside services will be concluded with a Trinity Dove Release ceremony.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 7, 2007, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the service at Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of arrangements. Phone 476.8575 for more information. You may send online condolences to www.grissomfh.net
