Bobbie Jane Crook, 78, of Cleveland passed away Friday June 26th at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was a native of Shooting Creek, N.C and was the daughter of the late Neal and Rose Ledford. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Jack Ledford and a sister Edith Patterson. Bobbie attended Hayesville High School in North Carolina and Lee College in Cleveland.
Bobbie was a long time resident of Cleveland. She loved gardening almost as much as she loved her family and friends. Bobbie loved nature and the outdoors. She had been a member of the Cleveland Garden Club and was a faithful member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She never met a stranger and believed Live, Love and Laughter.
Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, James Dan Crook, daughter Janet Crook and John McManus; five sisters, Joann Bristol and husband Richard, Christine Penland and Polly Hughes all of Hayesville, N.C. Lucille and Norine Bryant of York S.C.; and one brother Gene Ledford and wife Marilyn of Rock Hill S.C. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mattie Jo Ledford and Estella Ledford of Hayesville N.C. and many nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends.
The family will receive family and friends at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 30th at the St. Luke's Parish Hall. The funeral will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the St. Lukes Episcopal Church with Fathers Joel Huffstetler and Perry Scruggs officiating. Interment will follow the service at St. Luke's Memorial Garden.
