Fred Harris Crumley, 80, a life-long resident of Bradley County, departed this life on Wednesday morning, September 27, 2006 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a well known minister of The Church of God, serving as pastor of churches in Arkansas and East Tennessee. He was a World War II veteran. He received the Purple Heart and several Battle Stars while serving his country in Germany and France. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lou Kaylor Crumley; son, Terry Lee Crumley; parents, John Henry and Jessie Voleta Crumley; sisters, Marion Rebecca Crumley, Helen Marie Jones, and Shirley Ann Long; and brothers, Tom Alton Crumley and Raymond Clint Crumley.
Survivors include sons and daughters in law, Freddy Lynn and Sue Crumley, Tony and Shirley Crumley, Marvin Crumley, and Jimmy and Cathy Crumley, all of Cleveland and Johnny Lee and Brenda Crumley of Ten Mile; daughters, Carolyn Inez Barrows of Athens and Kathy Teresa Rogers of Cleveland; brother John Julian Crumley and his wife Donna of Cleveland; sister Willie Ruth Gregg and husband Daryll of Cleveland; a very special friend Naomi Clayton of Cleveland; grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Revs. L. W. Carter and Rick Brenizer officiating. Interment will follow in Cumberland Shed Cemetery with military honors. Alan Crumley, Chad Crumley, Dray Crumley, Josh Crumley, Arron Barrows, and James Rogers will serve as pallbearers.
