Jeanie Davis, 55, of Cleveland, died at her residence Monday, April 13, 2009, with her husband at her side after losing a hard-fought battle to lung cancer, but she made peace with the Lord and she is the winner now.

Jeanie was employed as a teller at First Tennessee Bank where she loved working with dear co-workers and customers. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lewis and Clara Belle Settlemire; nephew, Keith Mayo, and great-niece, Cheyenne.

Jeanie is survived by her husband, David, managing editor of the Cleveland Daily Banner; six Maltese dogs: Champagne, Bubbles, Babe, Allie, Flash and Cowboy, and one black Labrador retriever, Buddy, who all miss her so very much.

Ethel Jean Davis is also survived by three sisters: Merline and husband, Homer, of Bennington, Okla.; Mary Joyce Mayo and L.T. Townley, of Calera, Okla.; and Roberta and Wayne Mayo, Whitesboro, Texas; a very special cousin, Charles and wife, Mildred, of Cookeville; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Grissom Funeral Home.

A memorial service will follow with the Rev. Gary Sears officiating. Inspirational music will be performed by the Voices of Lee, Lee University. Her remains will be buried Monday in Bentley Cemetery, Bentley, Okla.
