John Walter Davis, age 77, resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, March 27,2010, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local 43. He was a member of the Church of God Seventh Day. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served his country in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Roscoe Davis and Mary Elizabeth King Davis and one baby brother.
He is survived by his loving wife, Reba Faye Breeden Davis; two sons and daughters in law, Tylan and Glenda Davis and Shawn and Janet Davis all of Cleveland, TN; one grandson, Colton Davis, Cleveland; two brothers and sisters in law, Sherman and Arlene Davis, Tucson, AZ and Roy Lee and Virginia Davis, Cleveland, TN; one sister and brother in law, Shirley Marie and Bryan Liner, Cleveland, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Cohulla Baptist Church Cemetery with Henry Wyatt officiating. There will also be a Trinity Dove release and full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 30, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of funeral arrangements. You may sign the online guestbook and view the video tribute at www.grissomfh.net
