Lois Sillman Dees, age 84, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009, in a local health care facility. She was of the Presbyterian faith. A native of Chicago, Illinois, she moved to Philadelphia, Mississippi as a young lady and lived there most of her life until she moved to Cleveland in 1994. She had many friends in the Cleveland area. She loved watching football and reading and she was a great southern cook. She never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Billy Dees and one brother, Jack Sillman who was killed in World War II.
She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Kim and Nancy Dees, Cleveland and Paul and Sherry Dees, Nashville, TN; three precious grandchildren, Shelley Dees Baker, Nashville, TN, Meredith Dees, Cleveland, TN and Ricky Dees, Nashville, TN; one great grandson, Samuel Paul Baker.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, November 8, 2009, at 4:00 p.m. C.S.T. at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia, Mississippi with Rev. Don Caviness officiating.
The family received friends Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, from 12 Noon to 3 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN, who has charge of funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.net
