Edmund Francis Ed DeLuca, Sr., age 77, resident of Cleveland, Tn., died peacefully at home on Friday, July 10, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. Formerly of Troy, N.Y., Mr. DeLuca was an accountant for over 30 years with the Bendix Corp. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He coached little league baseball and basketball for many years. He honorably served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. DeLuca graduated from Catholic High School of Troy, N.Y. He received his B.S. degree from Siena College. Mr. DeLuca was a communicant and member of St. Therese Catholic Church. He was born on May 9, 1932 in Richmond Hill, N.Y. to the late Alfred and Agnes Scarcelli DeLuca of Troy, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Milly DeLuca, his infant daughter, Marleen DeLuca and his infant grandson, Jerry DeLuca.
Mr. DeLuca is survived by his five children; Edmund F. DeLuca, Jr. of Cleveland, Laureen DeLuca Musselwhite of Cleveland, Cheryl DeLuca Bautista (Joel) of Chattanooga, Todd A. DeLuca (Minna) of Cleveland and Joseph Coultry (Kaye) of Cleveland, Tn. He is survived by 25 grandchildren, Trey Lassiter, Daniel, Bryan, Aaron and Chad DeLuca; Laura Bird Moores, Megan Bird, Thad, Trent and James Musselwhite; Cailyn, Bailey, Anne-Marie and Cruz Bautista, Chris Cassada, T.J., Makena DeLuca, Megan Jordan; Kelly Coultry Brownlow, Andy and Troy Coultry, Brandon and Stephanie Overstreet, Ryan and Wendy Coultry; 15 great grandchildren, niece, Colleen Blanchard of Troy, N.Y. and nephew William Coultry of Cleveland, Tn.
Visitation will held at Grissom Funeral Home in Cleveland, Tn. On Sunday July 12, 2009 from 3-5 pm and Monday July 13, 2009 from 6-9pm.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 11 am at St. Therese Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Mike Nolan and Rev. Fr. Antonio Girardo officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Steve Steele, Todd Sparger, Tom Davis, Monty Williams, Greg Mooney and Jay Elliott, Todd Davidson and Eric Spencer serving as pallbearers.
