Ruby Rosella Hyde Frazier, age 74, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away at her residence Wednesday, January 09, 2008. She attended Washington Ave. Baptist Church where she was very active on various committees. She enjoyed volunteer work, loved people and served as a caregiver. She was a nurse and was employed at Bradley Memorial Hospital and worked for many years for Dr. William R. Smith. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernie and Bertha Ware Hyde, two brothers, Ed Hyde and Ronald Hyde; two sisters, Geneva Duncan and Edna Landrum.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Frazier, Cleveland, TN; one son and daughter in law, William M. and Sharon Spencer, Calhoun, TN and one daughter, Karen Arthur, Texas City, Texas; one step son and his wife, Jeff Frazier and Donna, Cleveland, TN; two step daughters and spouses, Terri (the late Greg) Orr, Dalton, GA and Mickie Frazier, Dalton, GA; two sisters, Estelle Price and Talma Hawkins both of Cleveland, TN; four grandchildren, Angie Bowman and Holly Cash and James Artur and Janette Arthur and six great grandchildren, Aubrie and Brylie Bowman and Cole and Cameron Cash and Alexia Arthur and Adam Galvan; four step grandchildren, Kristen, Andrea and Stephanie Gravitt and Chandler Frazier; and two step great grandchildren, Kylee Raper and Landon Gravitt. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at McInturf Cemetery in Birchwood, TN with Rev. Beecher White officiating. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday for the cemetery for those who wish to follow.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 11, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.net
Ruby was a loving, giving, life-filled wife, mother and grandmother who was a constant example of Christs love. Her ability to rise above numerous health problems was a testimony to faith and hope that energized everyone who knew her. Her optimism and love of life will be sorely missed.
