Horace Goins, Jr.

Horace Goins, Jr., age 86, resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2008, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Goins, Sr. and Stella Johnson Goins, as well as his grandaughter, Jana Ellyne Burns. He was a graduate of Charleston High School, class of 1942. He was a veteran of WWII having served his country in the Army Air Corps. He was a retiree of DuPont Corporation in Chattanooga, TN where he worked for 37 years. He was also an avid Ham Radio Operator since 1952.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Jane Blackburn Goins, one daughter and son in law, Brenda and Raymond Burns, three grandchildren and spouses, Andy Burns, Lara and Donny Harwood, and Emily and Jody Jones. Four great grandchildren, Hannah, Austin and Lauren Harwood and Kalle Jones, all of Cleveland, TN. One very special aunt, Ressie Goins Hancock.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Ft. Hill Cemetery Veteran's Section wtih Rev. Joe Morelan officiating.
