John H. Green, 88, a resident of Ocoee, TN, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2006 in a local hospital. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army with 27 years of active service. He served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of VFW Post 7974, DAV, First Calvary Division Association, Vietnam Veterans of America, Conasauga Masonic Lodge #396, where he was currently Master of the Lodge. He was a member of Chestuee United Methodist Church. After retiring from the military, he was employed with Magic Chef and Cleveland Chair. He served as Grand Jury Foreman of Bradley County for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Green and Mary Bell Ellis Green; two brothers, Rev. Charles Green and Max Green; and four sisters, Lily Williams, Edna Wilson, Rosalee Miller, and Ruth Rector.

Survivors include one son and daughter in law, John Ronald (Ron) and Judy Green of Dearborn, MO; one grandson, John Brett Green and his wife Christina; one granddaughter, Stephanie Green Carey and her husband Ken; two great granddaughters, Erin and Leila Green; and one great grandson, Nicholas Henry Carey; one sister, Rema Thomas of Chattanooga; niece and caregiver, Jean Wilson and her husband Clarence; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Roy LaDuke officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Conasauga Masonic Lodge #396, Chestuee United Methodist Church, or any charity of your choice.
