Gladys Iola Hainsworth

Gladys Iola Hainsworth, age 83, resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Monday, December 15, 2008, in a Chattanooga hospital. A native of Hammondsport, New York, Gladys was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hainsworth, parents, Jerome Wood and Lena Davenport Wood and two daughters, Sandra Brown and Kathleen Gundersen.

She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, John E. (Julie) Hainsworth, Maytown, PA and Jeffrey L. (Susan) Hainsworth, Germantown, TN; three daughters and sons in law, Connie S. (Allen) Brown, Cleveland, TN, Patricia A. (James) Pelham, McDonald, TN and Sherilyn R. (Julian) Scarpa, Elmira, New York. 17 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 19, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Church of God with Rev. Gary Sears, Senior Pastor, and Rev. John Gann, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Glenn Triplett, Greg Cunningham, James Vaughn, Marcus Hainsworth, Ryan Triplett and Cody Roberts serving as pallbearers. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.grissomfh.net
