Humphrey Glenn Harper, 91, of Cleveland, passed away on April 21, 2010. Born on March 17, 1919 in Pine Plains, N.Y. to Henry Humphrey and Sadie Rose Masten Harper, he lived most of his life in Dutchess County, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Harper, his brother, William Ford Harper, N.Y, and his son-in-law, Lawrence Timbo, Fla.

Glenn attended Pine Plains Central Schools. In 1943, he married Betty. He was a member of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department and worked as a mechanic for Arlington Central Schools in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Prior to moving to Cleveland, he and Betty lived in Hyde Park, N.Y.

Mr. Harper is survived by his daughters, Norah Wendy Timbo, Fla., and Mary Jane (and William) VanBenschoten, Cleveland; five grandchildren, Maria (and Joe) Murphy, Fla., Daniel (and Tracey) Timbo, Fla., William (and Megan) VanBenschoten, Va., Rebecca (and Thomas) Marino, Cleveland, and David (and Anna) VanBenschoten, Va.; thirteen great grandchildren; his sister, Betty (and Bruce) Haynes, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.

Glenn was a member of Mountain View Church of God. A memorial service will be held at Grissom Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, with Pastor Fred Mercer officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 24. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Crum Elbow Rural Cemetery, in Clinton Corners, N.Y.
